Independent games and software

Blow up your friends.

We make Crater, a turn-based demolition game that runs in your browser, and pingpong.beer, an app for clubs to track ping pong tournaments, players and stats.

Crater

One shot a turn. A world made of blocks. Everything you can see, you can break.

Walk, line up the arc, charge, let go. Then watch the floor you were standing on stop being a floor. Play on one keyboard, in an online room with friends, or fill the seats with computers and watch them fight it out.

Six places to ruin

The kit

Pick your argument

Up close

Fists
A lunge and a wide swing. Deeply personal.
Shotgun
A cone of eight pellets, two shots a turn. Brutal close, polite far away.

At range

Rifle
Three-round bursts, two a turn, with a 2x or 5x scope. Made for the middle distance.
Sniper
One round through a 5x or 10x scope, and it reaches anywhere on the map. Too close and it usually goes wide.

Explosives

Grenade
Lob it and it bounces around until the fuse runs out.
Mortar
A long, flat arc that blows up on the first thing it touches.
Plasma cannon
Rods bore through the scenery, then burst. Tap for three, or hold for one huge one.
Mines
Up to three a turn. They go off when anyone close moves, including you.
Drone
Fly it yourself: boost, brake and detonate before the battery dies.

Getting around

Grapple
Hook a ledge, get reeled in, and still have your turn to shoot.
Jet pack
One tank a turn. Hover with a gun out, and mind the drop.

Under the hood

It never caves in

Blast the stem of a stack and the crown stays in the air. That's a rule, and it's the one you build your tactics around. Try it.

0 blocks gone

Your turn has no lag

Whoever's turn it is plays on their own device with no input delay. Every browser runs its own copy of the match and is fed the same stream of commands.

Same maths on every machine

The rules tick 60 times a second and come out identical, bit for bit, on every browser and CPU. A phone and a desktop always agree on where that shell landed.

Fair by construction

The match server checks every command and plays the computer seats, using the very same code that runs in your browser.

Maps you can share

Random arenas grow from a seed. Type the seed into the lobby and you get the same map again, ready for a rematch.
